Ashtin Markgren joined the organization earlier this month as our Administrative Specialist. Ashtin will be the friendly face you see at the front desk when you stop by our office. We are so happy to have her on the NWRPC team!
What qualifications and/or work experience do you have that pertain to your position at NWRPC?
I graduated this spring from WITC-Rice Lake in the Administrative Professional and Accounting Assistant programs, and there are many skills I learned during my schooling that
have greatly helped me in my new role as the Administrative Specialist. I have also held other office positions at NWCEP, WITC-Student Life, and Spooner Area School District.
What attracted you to want to work with this organization?
My college advisor was actually the person to send me the Administrative Specialist opening and said that it would be perfect for me. I looked into it more and read about NWRPC and love what they do! There are many different components and, now that I’ve started, I’m learning something new every day. Plus, everyone here has been so nice and helpful, which I greatly appreciate!
What are you most proud of accomplishing in the past few years?
My biggest accomplishment in the last few years would have to be graduating college with honors while serving as the Student Senate President, Campus Activities Board Event Coordinator, and Student Life Assistant. It was a crazy and busy season, but I grew tremendously and made lifelong friendships!
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I am an avid coffee drinker, so I love spending time in coffee shops! I enjoy being with friends and family or reading a book, just as long as I have a cup of coffee in hand. I am involved in my church, and during the summer I love going to church softball games and playing volleyball. My newest hobby is playing with my little kitten, Ruger!
