Using the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) HAZUS-MH software, the Northwest Regional Planning Commission prepared a Level 2 (customized) flood inundation analysis for Taylor County which examines the potential economic impacts associated with 100-year and 500-year flood scenarios.The study focuses on building community economic resiliency through a broad range of strategies and mechanisms needed to reduce risk and vulnerability. This project was funded by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) as a regional pilot project to address community economic resiliency in rural communities.
